Listen, sometimes you want to review a book and quickly realize that what you really want to do is rant. If you are looking for scholarly insights, you are in the wrong place.
Okay. I don’t even know where to start with this one. While this wasn’t the worst book I’ve ever read, I unfortunately am not boarding the hype train on this one. This is my full review/rant of From Blood and Ash by Jennifer L. Armentrout.
I love Hallmark movies (they’re my guilty pleasures and I can’t get enough), so this year I decided to read some Christmas romances. I had high expectations for Ninth House as I loved Six of Crows, but it wasn’t what I expected. The characters were one dimensional, the plot was slow, and it lacked the same spark of Bardugo’s Young Adult novels. Read on for more of my thoughts on Ninth House!
Welcome back to high school, folks. I read Midnight Sun by Stephenie Meyer and I have thoughts. I didn’t hate it, but I definitely did not love it. There was potential here. Lots and lots of potential. The execution, however, fell short. Check out my full book rant to read what else I thought of Midnight Sun.
“Steel Magnolias meet Dracula” said the summary of this book. I was sold. But I was misled. I have many thoughts about this book.
Well, old sport, this novel is ridiculously overrated.
O, gentlefriends, buckle up because I have thoughts.
